Giovanni Gioanola: Born in 1956 in Casale Monferrato, he completed his musical studies at the conservatories of Alessandria and Turin, where he graduated in composition (with G. Bosco) and in choral music and choir conducting: His works have been awarded and reported in national and international competitions (including the 5th International Choral Composition Competition of Trento, 1988, 1st Prize). He translated and edited the Italian edition of the Manual of Harmony by W. Piston and M. DeVoto, as well as numerous other musicological texts and articles, for publishing houses such as EDT, Il Mulino, Marsilio. He worked for ten years as columnist for the magazine “Suonare News”. Since 1986 he has been teaching Harmony and Analysis at Conservatorio of Alessandria where he has been fully involved also in the administrative and internal offices such as Statute Commision, Regulations Commission, External Relations Commission, Stakeholder Commission, Temporary Academic Board , Academic Board, Board Management, Trade Unions Representatives. Along with Professor M. T. Pasero is in charge of the relationship with Liceo Musicale “Gobetti in Omegna. With Professor Marco Santi he is also managing the Department of Collective and Complimentary Courses . In 2016/2017 he held the position of Vice Director of Conservatorio.
